Any dogs being delivered directly from Romania to your home experience a journey via a mode of transport we call The Happy Bus.
Our dogs travel to the UK in a specially customised and DEFRA-approved vehicle, ensuring their journey is safe, comfortable, and fully compliant with all animal transport regulations.
Departure:
The journey begins on a Wednesday in Timișoara, Romania, where the dogs are comfortably loaded onto the transport vehicle. The team typically sets off in the late afternoon to begin the carefully planned trip to the UK.
Travel Through Europe:
Throughout Wednesday night and Thursday, the vehicle travels through Hungary, Austria, Germany, and the Netherlands en route to France. Our dedicated transport team takes regular, scheduled breaks for both themselves and the dogs. At every stop, the dogs are let out in small, supervised groups for toilet breaks and a leg stretch before continuing the journey.
Health and Hygiene Onboard:
Maintaining a sanitary environment is a top priority. In addition to cleaning as they go, the team performs scheduled "deep cleans" of the vehicle to ensure the dogs are kept in immaculate, healthy conditions for the entire trip.
The Channel Crossing:
On Friday morning, the team proceeds to Calais ferry port. Here, the dogs and the vehicle undergo all necessary checks by border officials before boarding the ferry to Dover. Upon arrival in the UK, they clear all final border controls.
Arrival in the UK:
Once all official checks are complete, our dogs are officially in the UK, and our team begins the final and most exciting part of the journey: driving to their eagerly awaited adopted homes/fosters.
We're a small team, but we're all committed to finding forever homes for as many dogs as we can, we like to say "There's no 'I' in Noah's Ark Dog Rescue 💙🩷
