Quite often, if an older person dies, their family have no desire to take on their relative’s dog and they are turfed out onto the streets to fend for themselves. They’ve had love and have been cared for in a home for many years with their owner and then have to scavenge for food to survive amongst larger dogs trying to do the same and humans chasing them away.

Fortunately, Bichon-cross Walter was lucky enough to be spotted by a kind person who took him to the shelter where he is now safe and being well fed and cared for. He is now fully vaccinated, has been neutered and is ready to travel.

Despite his ordeal of surviving the streets, he is a healthy old man, who can be a bit grumpy at times, but is generally very friendly and sociable. He just needs a quiet home and a golden sofa where he can live out his twilight years in warmth and comfort. 

He would be a good companion dog for a older person or couple where he has a peaceful life with lots of naps, love, security and nice walks.

As Walter is currently reserved and ready to move into her new home, we are not currently taking any further applications for her, but if her circumstances were to change we will open up applications again
